I have a 1978 Case 1070 power shift. Everything stopped working in the transmission and the hydraulics. The person working on it for me believes the main dump valve is hung open and that is allowing all of the fluid to bypass the system. The problem is that it doesn't look like it is possible to access this with the cab on. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. Can we pull the fuel tank off with the cab on. And, If we would pull the fuel tank off will we be able to access the top of the transmission. Has anyone had this happen to them?Does anyone have any advise on this issue?
Thanks in advance. |

sounds to me like the torque limiter clutch failed( tractor split to repair, I think on a 1070 you would lose every thing, if you had a hyd pump/drive fail it would give same issues, did you loose steering as well? as to the flow valve that controls flow to remotes and PS it is on the side of the trans housing also had the pto control in it, as to the ps valve on top of the trans you can access it by removing the floor plate inside the cab cnt |

I believe the hyd. pump drives off the flywheel not the limiter, you need to ck. press at valve body or at least on the back,if you have press. but no trans. usualy the limiter is bad.if you have no press.i would consider ps problems, and back to the valve body.do the easy stuff first. |
