Broke the hook off the top of the rear spring on the left hand side. Lost the broke off piece. Can that be repaired? OR is it best to replace the spring. Should I even consider a used one? Thanks |

Some of the welding guys can tell you for sure, but any spring I ever welded never held. I wouldn't have any problems using a used spring. |

Someone on here once said V sells a screw-in end to repair that problem, check with your dealer? (Big cast end that fits inside the spring like a big screw...)
I should do the same, mine broke too, it was already borken and one end bent into a new hook when I got it - that broke too.
Spring steel doesn't often weld very well.....

I used the screw in thing on my Vermeer baler. Worked fine.

Don't remember the cost, but it was a lot less than a new spring. I had to put a new spring in my 505 I and I think it was about $130, but don't really remember.
