I have been working on a 64 3020 gas. It is supposed to have an oil trap in the air stack at top of the airfilter unit. It shows sign that it has been cut out. I was wondering if they were removed by Deere. The later models after sn 85000 do no have this. My problem is if the engine stalls it throws oil from the air filter inlet back on the hood makes a mess on the new paint job. |

I don't remember anything about an oil trap in the air cleaner from when I was a service manager. |

It is pictured in the service and operators manual. I guess it was to catch oil going up the air cleaner stack when the engine rolled backward. It may have become a choke point and caused high fuel consumption if not serviced which required removal of the hood. Thanks |
