I have an 8n serial# 110649 and on the side of the hood at the air breather there is a round vented piece bolted with a tube hanging down that has beed cut off. I have seen pics of these but don"t know what they are called or there purpose. I need to order another one just don"t know what to ask for. Thanks for you help! |

Look like this?
If so, it's a Cyclone pre-cleaner. NLA new. Check e-Bay.
If it looks similar, it's still a pre-cleaner, just a different make, maybe Hyco. I think they are still available.
It's not a Ford part. It was aftermarket.

Duke........the glass bottom air pre-cleaner was common in the days of before weed spray. Weeds were skimmed from top of DRY DUSTY soil with "shovels". (small flat "V" shaped pieces of metal) Would is surprize you to learn that created a lotta DUST??? The NLA required centrifugal cyclone air pre-cleaner prevented the dust from saturating the OIL bottomed airfilter and turning into a grinding compound. Go ahead and use the standard glass pint canning jar with a green mini-tractor in it. Me? I'd just use the standard 8N trap door filter cover. .......dusty Dell |
