Just got back from four days at the Canton Trade days at Canton, Tx. They have it the weekend before the first Monday of every month. Picked up a ERTL Cenex 1/16th gravity wagon for $5. They had a ton of 1/16th and 1/64th goodies. I highly recommend a visit there. Bout 100 acres of everything you ever thought of. All for sale or trade.

Headed that way next month. Any particular direction I should head for to find some 1/16 stuff, or is it spread all over the place?

The "man stuff" is going to be on the west side of the property. From the edge of town on the south all the way to the edge of the property on the north. Ladies have the east half and 99% of the pavillions. The toys are just randomly scattered through out the "man stuff". There was a time when a couple of booths were dedicated strictly to ERTL type stuff but they have since disappeared. Be sure and haggle over the price. They will usually always knock off a few dollars. But then there is always that one guy who thinks you know something he doesn't and that you are about to make a million off of his toy, so he won't budge. Also, make sure you have made arrangements (now) for lodging cause there won't be any by show time. We've stayed in Tyler, Van, and Athens over the years. Now we take our RV. Still gotta reserve a place though.
PS. Don't forget to visit "dog alley".

Thanks for the comeback! I'll be sure to check out the west side, as you suggest. Some friends have made reservations at an RV park for both our rigs. Not sure where, but they know.

Thanks again,

I don't want to come across as a know-it-all. Just a few more tips for a good time while there. If you see something you think you might want-take my advise and go ahead and get it. I have passed up a lot over the years thinking I would come back later in the day-only to find it SOLD! The "man stuff" area can be walked over in a day if you don't walk slow. I usually walk through fairly fast, looking at things that catch my eye. Then on day 2 I go over it again-more slowly-taking time to REALLY look it over.
One more landmark-the Civic Center. In front and around it is the good stuff.
