Does anyone know what the weight of a 504 is? It would have everything on it, looking to build/buy an engine stand and don't want to go too light. |

Just out of curiosity, when I disassembled my 1370’s 504, I weighed the bare block. That alone was 597lbs. I’m not real good at guessing weights but I would say the heads are 60-70lbs a piece, the crank another 130-150, pistons and rods probably 60-80, flywheel another 80-100. I bought a cheap Chinese made stand that was rated for 1000lbs for the 1290 engine that I’m working on and it seems overloaded with only (guessing again) 400lbs on it. Plus it’s a real beast to turn over with that much weight on it. Hope this helps! |

I may have found a real deal, an engine stand made by IH used in the R&D dept. at the old harvester plant in Indiana |
