This is WAY off topic, but maybe someone can help before I kill my Grand-Dog. Whenever my son has to travel, we help by keeping his male Boston Bull. We constantly find some place where he lifts his leg in the house. Latest was on a ream of paper I had laid on the floor next to computer! He's a great little dog, has run of outside but when I find where he sprayed I want to kill him!
Any help?

Sometimes that doesn't even help. Some dogs just like to mark. Especially if male dogs have been around before, and have marked your house before.

I had to stalk my dog and catch him in the act to punish him. Had to punish him several times before he got the idea it was unacceptable behavior.

He still does it once in a while, but only when I'm not looking.

Dumb animal indeed.

A lead pellet of approprate caliber will solve that problem.

My Dad always said: There are good dogs and bad dogs - bad dogs become dead dogs.

You won"t train him out of it. He"s not yours. Diaper him. They sell dog diapers. No stress.

Obvious solution: don"t allow that dog inside your house, ever. Or else keep him crated all the time he is inside.

No way would I ever put up with ANY dog "marking his territory" in MY HOUSE. I doubt that you can train this dog to mind his manners at this late date.

Or you could tell your son that he needs to make other arrangements for taking care of the dog. Good luck!

If he is an adult male you will NOT get him to stop. He is marking our house as HIS territory. I would not let him into my living area. He would be in the garage or kennel. If the owner does not like then let them take the dog with them.
