I think I have come up with a really good match for the cream color Paint on some Ford Heavy Industrial tractors. First off we must start with the preliminaries. My tractor was originally a Select-O-Speed and the transmission has been changed so I don't really know the exact model. The casting number on the block is CONN6015C and the casting date is 1B6. I guess that makes it a 1961 4000 Heavy Industrial, It was originally red and buff (cream). I took off the instrument panel and on the underside, in front of the proofmeter hole was a place that had paint that never saw the sun. I cleaned it up with polishing compound so I had a really clean sample to work with. After looking at hundreds of pages of paint chips I came up with a 1958 Ford car color, Sungold, code G, R&M number 978. The only problem is that it's only available in basecoat/clearcoat. |
