I want to know how I can have this happening and how to fix it: I had the engine running on my 450 LP, and decided to check the pto fluid while it was running. When I did, oil starts running out of it, but since it needed changing anyway, I decided to let it run out for a minute or so. Well, it ran out, and out and out, until I realized there is not that much fluid in the whole pto unit...can somebody tell me where I need to start working, that is, what do I start checking first? Thanks. |

Your PTO is a seperate gear case and therefore seperate oil from the transmission. It sounds like the seal between the transmission and the PTO has gone out. |

So I would need to pull out the pto and replace the seal on the pto input shaft? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Hugh |
