I have a 1973 model 4000 Ford,Model 1414C, 3 cyl diesel tractor. I am having an issue with getting the correct upper steering column seal from New Holland. The one they sent me mic'd at 1.38 OD. The house seat for the seal mic'd at 1.291 OD the dealers says that is th only one available.Any idea on why they can't find the correct upper seal for this steering column? My tractor has power steering cylinders on each side of the tractor. The part number the sent me was 83929295. It was crossreferenced from the supposedly old part number E1NN3N632AA.

Your 4000 is a 4000SU. Did you so inform the NH parts person?

What Dean said, try a 3000 part. The SU has 3000 steering and front end.
