Pony won't start..??

Have you tried to pull-start the Big Motor..?

It certainly should fire right up..

Are you SURE the fuel is not turned off..??

Ron..

When you roll over the main with decompression pulled does the stack have puffs of white vapor coming out? If it does you are getting fuel. If it doesn't you aren't getting diesel juice to the holes and might have either a restriction or lost prime somehow.

If it does puff diesel vapor then try this. Don't roll it a bunch to look for the vapor out the stack. If you have that vapor then stop and pull the air cleaner oil pan hicky off the bottom of the cleaner assembly. Then try lighting it up again. With the pan off the bottom of the air cleaner you'll be sure to get good air to the holes... which you need to make compression... that makes heat... that causes the burn... that makes the pop pop pop. Air, fuel and compression...

What I've seen happen before is attempts to clean the air cleaner via steam cleaner or similar... then put back on and it'll initially run but the oil bath deal starts mingling oil with the left over water in the screens and next thing you know you have a white paste plugging the whole mess up. Next time you try to light it up with everything cool and lack of good air it can't make enough heat to pop. Another indication of this would be if it was spitting black oily crap out the stack when you ran it those couple hours. If you have black freckles all over the hood the air cleaner is plugged.

Good Luck...
Bob

When you release the decompression lever does the pony have to work harder? Wondering if the decompression system is hanging up somewhere?
