Lost forward but still have reverse. Have not had a chance to look at it yet. Any ideas? Seems like it would be in the linkage somewhere.

I had the same problem with my 856--found out the roll pin at the bottom of the forward shifter had broken. Punched it out and put in a new one, forward shifter works like it should now.

Thanks, that was it. What's the trick for getting the pin back in? The way the holes lined up I could not tap the pin back in. I ended up making a new pin by cutting off a drill bit and tapering the end. Now I just have to come up with a way to keep it in. By the way my pin wasn't broke, it just came out.

Instead of a pin, I have used grade 8, 1/4" bolts with a shank long enough to extend almost all the way through the parts, use a lock nut, trim off the excess threads.
