Massey 1155 with perkins v8 has been running rougher and rougher this last year, kind of acts like it is being over fueled. Now when above 1700 rpm it starts a constant miss-fire and back fires so bad that flames are shooting out the stack. The back-firing and missing is at no load at higher rpm's, when pulling the miss- firing doesn't seem as bad, but hard to tell. Oh yes, there is lots of smoke, it has always been a smoker but now it looks like it's burning coal with any load at all. |

The CAV rotary pumps were fair at best. You probably have injectors that are not atomizing the spray properly, but I would bet the pump is where your problem lies. I can't tell from your post how it starts, but you may have a valve burnt as well. |

Pull the air cleaner element and see if that changes any thing. Exsesive exhaust will plug the air cleaner element. BTDT |

I would double check the injector pump timing also. |
