I have a person interested in buying two Wisconsin engines from me. What would be a fair price for each one?
One is a model THD from a New Hollland 273 hay baler.
It is a 2 cylinder gas engine.
The other one is a model VH 4 D four cylinder gas engine with a gear box attached which has a lever to place the gear box in or out of gear.
Both engines have been sitting idle for a while.
Thanks for your thoughts. |

These were nice engines when they were new, unfortunately they are prone to stuck valves if left sitting for extended lengths of time. First thing I would do is check compression to see if they are stuck. Replacement parts are very expensive if you can find them. IMHO |

If you got $100 a piece you'd be a tad over on one, and a fair amount over on the other. I assume they are all there & loose, but not running from your comments.
But if they are an easy rehab and they bolt into something and a person needs then then $100 would be a deal from the other side....
So - there you are, $100 or less depending?

Boy - wish there were people selling wisconsin engines for scrap price in MY neighborhood!
haven't seen a thd go for less than 200
more for the 4 cylinder.
I've been looking to find a junk one just for spare parts - like glass air cleaner and/or a complete muffler - but I can't justify 200 for a peice of glass and a rusty muffler. |
