Half way to PA this morning it was raining, but it wasnt raining up there,so I was able to get the grass cut, pick some stuff from the garden, and fire up the bbq to cook some of the peppers from the garden along with some onions and some sausage , Turned out to be a good day.

You had more rain than we did this summer. Your pepper plants are probably twice the size of mine. Nice produce.

Our turnips went to seed real quick this year due to wet and stress as did the radish, got the maincrop spuds lifted on Saturday, about 2/3rds the crop they were last year and very weedy,They were hit with blight,(an old problem we have to contend with in Ireland), back at the end of August,so we cut off the stalks/haulm to stop the rot getting into the tubers, then the weeds grew and, as we like our garden to be organic, we could not spray. Still the PTO spinner-digger handled it well and we lifted 20 bags, should keep us going untill end of June when the next new crop should be ready.....
Nice garden, by the way....great to grow it yourself.
Sam

Those turnips look good, I may have to see if I can make it up to the farmers market and pick some up this week (wife doesn't like them some I don't plant any). Those eats on the grill look good too. I always admire the pics from your farm.

Yanno Larry, if 50 of us descended on your house in Jersey or your farm in Pa and DEMANDED some of that food, it'd serve you right for posting those pictures. You obviously have enough to share. How can you and your wife eat all that? I know you burn a lot of calories in your job but, come on, 7 Italian sausages? Sheesh.

Larry been thinking about a bar b q grill like yours. Are the blocks some kind of fire blocks. I was thinking of using maybe blocks filed with concrete then line with fire bricks. Did you build the grill. Really like it. ED-mail open

they are not ,should have fire brick, but I got all the material for free, they are laid dry,no cement,if the block do desinegrate in time,I have more block,It is nothing fancy, but we dont use it a lot,and it cost nothing, I tried it for the first time today,I like the real wood fire,I think its going to work fine for our needs,
