ALSO HAS ADJUSTABLE FRONT AXLE, THREE POINT HITCH AND FLAT TOP FENDERS. DID SOMEBODY CHANGE SOME THINGS BEFORE HE GOT IT? A Farmall is a row crop tractor that may have a narrow front, or a wide front.
If it does not have "Farmall" on the side of the hood, then it is a standard tread, or wheatland. The front axle on a standard is usually "set back" under the tractor, and a rowcrop front axle will be directly under the front of the tractor.
Fenders can be changed, and hood side emblems can also be changed, as can complete hoods. |

IIRC, the serial tag will show as "F-1206" if it is a Farmall, and "I-1206" if it is a Wheatland model.
Mechaincally, the tractors are practically the same. Same engine, same transmission, same rear axles. I think 3pt was available on the Wheatland versions. The tractor could easily pull a 6-7 bottom semi-mounted onland plow.
It's just a matter of parts and labor to make the changes you described. Probably the only change made was the fenders. |

When sold new, if you ordered a Farmall and a International with the same size tires, pto, and three point hitch, the differences would be: Farmall had flat top fenders and lights in fenders whereas International had big round fenders and platform and lights in grill. Farmall had either tricycle front or forward setting rowcrop front axle whereas International hadf set back heavier duty front axle. Hood said Farmall on rowcrop and International on standard. There were a number of different options, but, those were the basic differences. Wheatland was a special limited option International tractor sold in a limited area of the country which consisted of a Wheatland decal and a few special options.
