A friend of mine has a tractor/loader JD 300 I think, that has a 2010 diesel engine in it. It was running fine but he supposedly ran it out of fuel. He added fuel and we bled the injectors but still runs (about 1000 rpm) about 2-3 minutes (smokes a lot-blue like unburn diesel) and quits. I told him to replace the fuel filter and try bleeding the injectors again. Does anyone have experience with these motors? What other service might get it runing correctly again? Could it be the injection pupmp not working correctly?Appreciate any help. |

2010 engine was built a generation before the 300. 2010 uses a 165 c.i. four cylinder indirect-injected diesel. 300 uses a 152 c.i. three cylinder direct-injected diesel.
Most likely you've got a failed dampener inside the injection pump - assuming your 300 has the JDB Stanadyne pump. |
