Looking to build a toy for my kids to ride at tractor events. Local guy has a complete 104 with deck. A little surface rust. Decent tires. Motor has compression, has sat for a few years. Trans shifts and has some detent in gear, not all sloppy. No cracks or welds that I can see. Is 250 a decent price for a nonrunning 104?
Thanks Cory |

Well I got the fairly complete 104. The gentleman's father had owned the tractor and parked it back in the 80s when he got a new mower. He had drained the gas and changed the oil in prep for the next season that never came for the little cub. I poured some oil in the spark plug hole and turned her over a few times with a jumper pack, then gave her a drink. After about a minute and a half of smoke from the oil she sat there and purred away...LOL
No comment on the price!

For kids to ride around on I'd be looking for a hydro. |

You did OK. $250 seems to be right in the middle range for "it runs but I haven"t tried to start it" Cub Cadets of that vintage. Like anything else a rare option or two can make the price go up fast. |

The fact that it started makes it a very cheap Cub for $250.
To often there is a reason why they haven't been run in years - usually its because it will take a lot of work and money to make them run. |
