Forum members,
Did the early model 8N tractors come with a throttle spring? I have had trouble with the throttle lever and wondered if the throttle spring came in later years to help governor the engine correctly. There are no holes in the bottom throttle arm to take a spring? There was also no attachment point on the bell housing. I ordered a spring and bell housing holder today. Any advice is appreciated.

Here are all of the parts.
I believe what you are calling a throttle spring is the governor compensating spring, p/n 9827 (bottom spring in the pic). It should be 4.95" long for the 8N.
The throttle spring is p/n 9806 & goes around the throttle rod. (top spring in the pic)
