I want to build a small yard-ornament windmill that would recirculate water in nearby bird bath. Didn't want the windmill to spook the birds by having it too near the bath. Looking for a small positive displacement pump (cheap or junk of course). Any suggestions? |

A roller pump. That is one that squeezes a flexible tubbing.

I think your going to need some sort of gearbox to give more torque, how about an old right angle grinder or the gears from a elec. drill. You might make a piston pump about 1" dia. out of copper tubing and some small check valves. |

A roller pump that squeezes tubing is called a tubing pump or a peristaltic pump. |
