Still got about 30 acres to go.These are small
fields of about 2 to 6 acres-odd shaped at
that.Second cut grass with a 'touch' of alfalfa. If
the weather holds this will be the best hay of the
season.I'm ready to be 'done'.Steve

Got 4 acres down, hope to roll today. Rain coming tomorrow but the grass is drying slooow...

Tell me about wrapped bales of grass. I have a 605H twine baler. How do you wrap them (by hand hopefully) and how do they cure, what can you feed?

I have a Vermeer wrapper, actualy built by McHale. Individualy wrapped, still wet and makes silage out of it. If you are just trying to make a few they make bags (like a large garbage bag) that you can slip over a bale, get as as much air out as possible, (some people use a shop vac) and tie off.

Got a couple hundred acres on the ground, and a couple hundred still to cut. Probably be stacking bales on Thanksgiving again this year... I just hope I'm done before the first of the year. Don't want to drag it out too long, ya know.

South central MO here, have a rented place to put down yet. Waiting on the weather as they are calling for rain this weekend, hopefully cut in the next week or so. We realy need to get more hay up due to the drought.

I'm thinking about trying to put some hay down next week if it stops raining long enough. The weather guessers are saying rain for the next 4 or 5 days. I know if I can bale 5 bales of hay I could sell 20. This area is hurting for hay so figure if all I get is 5 bales it is sure better then no bales

I prolly could make more second cutting, and definitely mulch hay, my friend called me 2 weeks ago looking for more mulch but the weather has not worked in my favor. I'm most likely done for this year! Last year columbus day it was 70 degrees and dry, this year 50 degrees and rainy, and damp!
