My leyland engine JCB 3c Mk2 is pushing out some black smoke when throttle is opened and it has lost some ofit's power. I was told the imjector pump timing could have moved and it needs to be tightened on the hub. Can anybody give more advice on this and where these parts are? It has a Simms fuel pump.

Check complete air system first for any restriction by rodent nests first. Any diesel that is starved for air will smoke heavily.
