I went to change the Alternator/Fan belt on my JD 301 and it appears that I have to remove the radiator to change the belt, is that correct? Or is there a trick? Of course I could just be an idiot and I am missing something, it has a loader on it so its hard to get a good look at every thing. |

Yep understand about the coupler but how do you get at the

By removing the 2 bolts(parts key #6) and splitting the metal clamps. It would be a good idea to replace parts key #3(R45822 BUSHING 2.21 USD)

When in there. Take a close and honest look at the water pump pulley and alternator pulley wear. Using a wee straight edge will about scare you with the amount of wear.
A new belt cranked down tight will drive. However the belt life and bearing life will be reduced with the worn pulleys. |
