Is there supose to be a rod in the oil tube on the side of the motor of our jetstar II? don't see one in the repair manual. Should we leave it there?

That little rod inside the tube is to restrict the oil going into the rocker arms. All of mine have it. I would leave it there and just check oil flow to the rockers.
