In the parts breakdown (caseIH,com) there are tooth counts on the separate gears. Jim |

Jim Thank You for the reply...
Yes you are right on the parts breakdown.
The International 140 has 2 Gears.
With Fast Steer, and with out fast steer.
Fast steer=part#351815R1, 28 teeth,replaced
by part#70889C1,10 teeth///and With out
fast steer=part#368676R1,replaced by part
#70888C1,8 teeth.
My problem is that I am missing one of
these gears, lost at a machine shop....
What a Set Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Only Way I see to find what gear I
need to replace what was lost, is to find
out what matches up to the steering shaft/
with worm wheel that I have..this is the
shaft that goes from the steering wheel into
the steering box.
There is no part# on my Steering Shaft,
and the 140 has 2 shafts, fast steer Part#
381403R91, with out fast steer part#369404R11,
How many teeth would be on these shafts, the
parts catalog has no info to number of teeth..
I have been working on this problem for over
a year.... No one can answer this ..

The pitch (distance from one worm helix to the next along the axis direction, is going to match the gear you need. Finding the gear (any of them, from someone like Bates Equipment in Indiana), then explaining your worm's pitch in thousandths of an inch, will let them sort it out. Jim |
