Good evening! I recently purchased a 981 and as I've been going through stuff, making it dependable, I started tackling the wiring tonight. The sos indicator hasn't worked yet, found a bad bulb, but that wasn't it. The wires are not all hooked up. It has one going to the junction block, but the other wire, I have no idea where it goes. It has a female bullet connector on the end, but I can't find another wire to plug into it. My Ford manual, I&T manual and the parts book I have doesn't shed any light. I thought it tied into the wire that goes in the top cover, but that appears to be only for the park safety switch to the start button. Can any of you shed some light on this for me?
Thanks in advance

Yes! The switch for that is on the output shaft housing of the transmission. The wire for it runs along the left upper corner of the transmission and in through the round access cover on where the hydraulic dipstick and traction disconnect are. It is located on the left side of the center housing. |

Thank you! I found the hole in the traction disconnect cover where it should go. I found some old posts that referenced that as well. Parts are ordered.
Thanks again. |
