Kinda like the time I drove an Oliver 88 down the big hill on 66 coming in to Ionia from the south. It was after dark and I didn't even have lights on it. My cousin was right tight behind me with the pickup. I think we must have had traffic backed up all the way to 96. We brought it all the way home that way that night. |

It wasn't the longest ride I'd been on. When I was about 14-15 my dad bought a JD4320 in Ohio. He says how do we get it home now. I said follow me. I drove the JD till dark we stayed at a motel and drove the rest of the the way the next day. Took half a tank of fuel and something like 12 hours road time. I think it was late Sep or early Oct soys was being harvested any way.
I'd do it again if the need arose. |

Ya,I drove a 77 home from Archbold one time.
The 88 incident,we were hauling it home from Archbold and blew a tire on the trailer down by Woodbury. We put the spare on and blew that just north of the Ionia airport,so we unloaded it and drove it the rest of the way in the dark. |

Back when I was in my early teens, My dad a Case dealer sold several Case 600 Combines to crop farmers in an area about 40 miles from us. I got to drive the new 600s to the farms, with my dad following in his PU. One farmer traded in a MM Uni. It traveled down the road in a very hard to control speed of about 9? MPH. Got home after dark and hoped that Dad would sell it locally, which he did and the new owner got to dirve it home off our lot.

I drove my carrot harvester home from Gilboa Ohio. 80 miles. At times it poured down rain and the roads were flooded. Still an enjoyable trip. |
