Just wonder if these things are any good to help dry hay. Thanks

I roll my windrows over by running the end of the rollabar rake along side them. Flips them nice at slow speed.

They are a ground drive unit. They work in lighter hay but will skid in heavy wet hay. I would spend the money on a good hay tedder.

I bought mine a few years back when there was a drought on hayrakes in the area & I needed to rebuild my rake. Never went back to a rake. The 144 works great for drying hay. Picks the hay up OFF of the ground, flips it & sets it back down gently & saves quite a bit of leaves. Great for shaking out a light rain or heavy dew, too. Also does a great job of picking up hay packed into the stubble by tires & seems to pull hay out of nowhere in a light or seemingly bare spot, IF you go slow enough.

The only improvments I could think of, would be a hydraulic drive & right hand unload. Both features were available on the 166 & are adaptable to a 144. The down side to them is capacity. Picking up a double row of first cutting is just about all it can handle. Fortunately, they're easy to unplug. They are also not a fan of heavy wet hay destined for the bunker, either.
