Does anyone know of a conversion kit or a new ring and pinion gear set i can install to lower the mph on my 2n tractor it doesnt have alot of pulling power to begin with and it seems to run to fast in 1st gear i was wanting this to slow the mph at high rpm"s thanks mark |

Shernam combination step down/up transmission or a Howard gear reduction unit. The Sherman is relatively scarce and te Howard more so.

My Howard really is not that usefull on a day to day basic. I use it sometimes when mowing a tricky spot. Would be good for what it was made for. Rototiller! |

I will have a hi/low sherman in the coming weeks.
It will give you 12 forwards and 3 reverses. |

He has a 2N, so it will give him 9 forward and 3 reverse. |

maw........NO CHANGE ring'n'pinion; 6:1.
Most Sherman's are OVERDRIVE so you end up going faster. There was a rare Sherman UNDERDRIVE. Most popular choice for "slower" gears is the Sherman 3-speed aux tranny.
Yer "cheapest and best" option to go slower is don't pull the throttle lever so high. Simple, eh? ........Dell |
