Did Elenco make a front wheel drive conversion for any Ferguson tractors? Specifically a TO-35? I think that would be a terrific upgrade for my 1955 green-belly. |

I have not heard of any Elenco conversions other than Fords.
Post your question on the Ford forum. Tony Jacobs will know.

I was thinking the same thing 2!
If some one needs 4wd, they need to buy a 4wd tractor. There are now loads of older ones that didn't exist at affordable prices 20 years ago.
If they want to create a dead end project, I want it to be close enough to me to pay scrap value and drag it home on the trailer!
If these aftermarket kits were worth the effort, the world would be full of them. I reckon gadgets are still around because the basic machine couldn't be useful enough to wear itself out...
If you want a cool lookin 4wd project, fine a SAME from the early 70's, I missed one last year, maybe next year... |

I don't understand the dissension over this issue. In fact i was unaware that any kind of 4wd coversion was ever available. There are those of us that that own and depend on these tractors for real and praticle purposes as they were originaly intended.
Maybe there is something i don;t understand about this particular modification. Everyone is entitled to their expectations of their own equipment whether real or imagined. There may be some tractor owners that only want a display item for bragging rites, nostalgia, parades, decoration or for winning a smiling contest in a holiday parade convoy. . There are also those of us with full confidence in the equipment for practicle work and usefulness as they were originaly intended.
For 18 years i've mowed lawn with my TO-20. It gets the job done!!! ANd much to my satisfaction. That's why i bought a second tractor a few months ago. A TE20.
THe 4wd conversion sounds good to me. What am i supposed to do??? Buy a 4wd jeep or Jeffries??? |

I would not mind having an Elenco. Her Fergy already has 24 forward gears. I am planning on making it 48 soon enough. Now to add an Elenco, if possible, might be, in some ways, the biggest mechanical insult of all time for a hapless Fergy tractor.
Then again, I do have a few Fords around here that would also benefit from an Elenco.
Yes, I do have an Orange Interloper. Lightweight and underpowered. |
