It wil;l help to know your location, 'here' we are deep into freezing mode so grass wouldn't a come up 4 weeks ago, and spray won't work if you are going into a long freeze period.
Igf I assume you are in a warmer area then there are different options.
In general if the weeds will freeze off before they go to seed you don't have to worry about them.
A broadleaf as I think you are describing is pretty easy to kill in fall with a cheap 2,4-D or some such, but will also kill any clover or alfalfa if you have those seeded. You don't want to spray too soon after the grasses come up, can be a little hard on them when they are very young - so again, depends on where you are, for what stage you are in.

Paul is right, most likely you have a bunch of winter annuals. I would not worry as long as your crop you planted is emerging. It is common that anytime you disturb the soil that all sorts of plants are going to come up from the seed bank and try to grow. At the end of next growing season you should have a pretty clean field as your grasses will gradually out compete the annuals. First year hay can be pretty weedy. |
