How do I tell if my governor is bad? My throttle and engine RPM's jump up and down. I just OH'd the carb and the engine starts right up even when cold. Could it be I don't have the carb jets adjusted properly?
Thanks, Roger in S. Ohio |

If your saying it surges then you have the carb set to lean so open up the main jet a little at a time till the surging stops and to double check that this is right try choking it a little and if choking stops the surge you know for sure it is running to lean |

And, is there a spring? Hooked to where ever it can from the back of the throttle/gov'r linkage? If that isn't working, you will have all sorts of throbbing and hi's and low's... please don't ask for a picture of the spring- it is impossible to get a camera to focus up in there- check pictures in manuals. |
