I know the pubs don't have last call till 2 AM where you are right? I didn't want to hyjack someone else's post, but on about the colors, with a 'U'.
I was thinking today about a fellow selling a civilian jeep a few years ago, it was painted the original 1960's red, nice in general. No one ever stopped to look, except people who wanted to know if it was an army jeep just painted red... after a year, this ate at him, so he did a quick repaint to army olive drab, raised the price enough to cover the cost, and it sold within a week.
I don't know about the ol sod, but for many years here, me included, see a grey tractor, and assumed 'Ford 9N'...and kept driving... a red or whatever... stop and look.... even tho I was an 'orangeman' (in the tractor sense) for ever.
There was an older fellow in pickle country near here, that painted everything he owned bright orange- for 'property idendification' or he had a barrel of industrial orange factory paint I would bet, but people would stop and walk up to stuff or take pictures...thinking he must have the most unusual and complete collection of rare Allis Chalmers.... not really.... most were JD's and farmalls...
When I first brought the F40 home, and discussing it on here, someone mentioned I might have driven past dozens of F40's... thinking they were boring gas hog Case's.... till you get within close range.... yeah, maybe I did!
I joked about painting a fergie SAME 70's technocolor - I bring home this 3165, and start cleaning and scraping...and find it was state highway scheme from the factory...which factory I don't know, lots of Conventry Cathedrals cast in it, but such a shame to cover such history!
When I mow the lawn with the turf 20, I take big swings in the road frequently, so the more yellow- originally the dull MF industrial, I put back, the safer I feel. It was 'suppose' to become a two tone 135, but, now back to cutting grass, it does it well....

Oh, the reds on the TO30... I don't want to bring back bad memories...but... that one was on its way to the big scrap pile in the sky, when I found a nice block, then when rebuilt and running fine again... I kinda had to be 'an Indian giver' with all the parts- wheels, fenders, hitch pieces, I already canibalized from it and installed on other tractors... I intended to repaint the things back to grey.... but that job is on the backest burner of a really big cooking range!!!!!
Now, what sort of reaction will I get when I paint the '59 MF50 into a nice bronze belly???

Still awake Tony, those tractors of yours gave me nightmares and I had to get up again! Big thing over here now is completely original, with real good tin and little wear, that commands the big bucks....Churchill's old Landrover sold yesterday for more than the price of a new Range Rover....£129,000, I think!!!!
