Imbky, John 37A, or anyone else......

I would realy appriciate (and it seems others would too) if you wouldn't mind posting a pic of your 4-5 lb tank support.

I can start fabing something up myself, but it would help a lot if I had an idea of how to make a shaft support work.

I understand it this kind of thing is "top secret", but I hope it isn't.

Thanks.

I havent forgotten you, I just haven't been near the tractor for a few days.

When I made mine, I set the old, cast iron support on a table to use as a template for the new one. I only added enough material to support a few gallons of gas, set the tank at the proper height, add a steering rod support and, of course the gauges. Gussets in several places for strength.

I used all 3/16" flat steel, plasma cutter and arc welder to build. Also, used the torch to heat and bend the steel between the tank support and the steering support. I will get you some pics very soon.

not to reck your post....I would like to check this out myself.....just trying to give you idea..... but a simple hiem joint will work order diam of steering shaft and slide steering shaft threw and will bolt on to your light weight tank support with a simple nut or weld a bug on with that thread.....and you can adjust height up down 1 1/2 so it's in line like org.
hope this gives you an idea or image in your head......I'm going to make one this winter and have ben thinking all along for last couple months....

Here are some pictures, finally. Hopefully these will explain it a little better. It is kinda crude right now, but this winter when the tractor gets painted, I will clean it up some. Also, I think I will add a gusset Underneath that will sit against the 4 bolt part of the tractor to give a little more stability. Let me know if you need any different pics, since I learned how to do this.
