Does anybody know what oil and amount is used in the right and left chain cases? This is a HL3030 and has a drain plug but no level plug that I know of. Thanks! |

Just enough 90wt to cover the bottom run of the chain. Ford says to brush motor oil on it periodically but I never liked that. Been running the same chains for 30 years now. If the Gehl has an enclosed chain case, do the same thing there. If it is open like a Case 1816, clean the chain real good and spray a quality chain lube on it, like Bel-Ray or PJ-1. The Liquid Wrench or equivalent chain lube you get at the hardware store is a waste of ozone-depleting CFCs. |

Fritz, thank you for reply, HL3030 and CL30 should be very close as they were built by Erickson from what I can find out.
Gehl has hyd brakes on front wheels and as foot feed for throttle. Both used Wisconsin VH4d engines. |
