What are your thoughts about a Firestone F151 16.9x38 on an 18" wide rim and would anybody happen to have a rough measurement as to the height of a F151 16.9x38 full cut on a 18" wide rim? Also if anybody has some pictures that would be good to.

Wouldn't that be hard on the sidewalls?

In my opinion that's to wide. 16 inch would be the best for 151s.

i have mine on 15" rims and they work great. i would think you would lose alot of height with 18" rims

you would definitely lose height, and would need a tanker truck load of air in them to keep the middle from cupping.

Im with ray tellin on this one. I have full cut 16.9-38 BFG's on a super 77. I started out with 18 inch rims now im down to 14 inch rims and thats where they work the best here in Iowa soil. In diffrent soil conditions mabie wide rims work but not here.

Not over 1" wider than what the tread measures & usely 1" under the tread measurement works good.

Thanks everybody for your comments, opinions, and your pictures 6pack. They are greatly appreciated and I have decided to go with some 16" wide rims. Again thanks, and if there is anything I can do to help in the future I will certainly try to.

Forgot to mention, mine are 6 ply, I know 8 ply tires like a wider rim, but I think the 6 ply in lighter classes work better....Good Luck

Thanks for the pictures Ray. If I'm not mistaken the Field and Roads are not as wide as the Field and Road F151's correct?
