Looking at the corn picking pics today man did it bring back memories.
What was the model that mounted on a WC or WD
I remember it was a low profile picker and I think it mounted one side at a time with the front snoot going on last.

The first pickers were referred to as the "Corn Harvester". The later ones were referred to as the "33". The main update on the 33s was the flapper above the snapping rolls to help material through and the quick adjustable stripper plates.

Yes, under-slung, below the axle. poor in wet ground, plus steering was restricted by the front snout. First model had no number, second was Model 33. Adjustable stripper plates was a real advancement for the 50s! Dad had the first model, on a 1947 WC.

Dad bought a new D17 in 1959, it was a holdover tractor, had a #17 picker on it. It seemed to do a lot cleaner job of picking than the 33's the neighbors had. I dont know if it was the picker or lack of maintance on the 33's. Can someone post back and let me know if there was a big difference in pickers, I always wanted to know. Sorry if I have hijacked this post, it just got me to thinking.

Dad had one for his 51 WD. He said it would get most every ear in the field and most all the husks. He said it was only a picker not a husker.
Sold it to a neighbor and bought a M1 or M2? for the M, it was much heavier and harder to put on but it had husking rollers.
