There seems to be as much difference between brands as between sizes. If you are a little short on power pick a short one. But if your gearing is a little slow for your class pick a tall one. Just go measure some. I need speed so I like 14.9"s. |

I have both and have used both, if power is not an issue the 14.9 are taller and have 200 in flat plate vs 187 on the 15.5s. Plus they have deeper side walls and tend to lay better on a good rim, at least for my experience.

I have to agree, for example it seems the Armstrong 15.5 has a bigger profile than a 15.5 Firestone 151. |
