I have a TD18A dozer that I have been doing lots of repair work on for a farmer friend. The other day he called me and said that the old dozer had a compression leak on one of the injectors. I went out to the farm and removed the nozzle and found the upper compression seal was distroyed. I was not able to get the precup to come out. Today I went back with a special tool that I made to removed the precup. With the precup in hand, I found out why, I had a compression leak, the precup was cracked around the outside.
Does anybody know where I can find a precup? The part# on the cup is 251041R1. My e-mail is open
Thanks much, Charlie |

Charlie, why don't you take one to a machinist and get a price on making one? That would be real easy to do on a lathe, and minimal setup on the Bridgeport for the jet hole. They're pretty soft, so you could have it made out of a mild stainless. They're definitely not cast, so I think I'd stay away from that. I've been looking for D-236 cups with no luck, so that's what I was going to try. |
