Was plowing with my 1486 when the 3pt came all the way up. When I stopped it would drop back down to the set position, but if I would let the clutch out the 3 pt would come back up. Any ideas what broke or came loose.

Pull the top link cove off the back and look in to the right you have a arm (lever) hanging down and ya have a arm (lever) coming up from the bottom . The one from the top is suppose to be behind the one coming up from the bottom. The one hanging down has a heavy spring pulling on it and will require some pulling , things can be vary sharp so either use a hook or a heavy pair of gloves when doing this .
