Pictures of hood-off fuel supply?

I wonder if people would be willing to post pictures of how they supply fuel to their tractors when the hood is off. I'm a little nervous about rigging something--the potential consequences of a leak are severe... So I'd like to see what others have used.

you have the exact saddle tank I use on my larger remote fuel setups!!

i also have a smaller 1pt tank for small tests.

I've not seen that saddle tank anywhere else.. other thant he lawnmower i scavenged it from!

funny.. I use that same lawnmower tank RG uses, when i do longer tests needing more fuel.

for short tests i use a lil push lawnmower tank.

here's my 4000 with it hooked up. I normally bailing wire it to a pvc pole or soemthing..

Yes, as the others said , the small lawn mower tanks work very well.

I use plenty of plastic tie wraps to hold my temporary lawn mower tank in place. They hold tight and are cheap.

I use a small 1qt gas tank off an old push mower and a long piece of rubber fuel line. The long hose lets you have it off to the side and up higher then the carb. If something does go wrong you can pull hard and throw the tank away from the tractor and keep any fire to a small oh on

Looks like I'll have to find a lawnmower tank... Canadian Tire didn't have any in stock when I wandered through yesterday. I'll be heading over to Princess Auto for some other things soon, so I'll check there. Otherwise, off to a lawnmower specialty shop.

I do have a question about the connection between the rubber hose and the metal line to the carb. Del's picture has a nice looking fitting there, and the other pictures don't show that connection clearly. I was thinking I'd just slide the hose over the end of the metal tube (sliding the screw fitting back out of the way) and clamp it in place. Thoughts?

Have any lawn mower repair shops in your area?? That would be the first place I would look. I do not know about up where you live but in this area many old lawn mowers end up dead at the lawn mower repair places and getting used parts off of them some times cost you just the time it takes to ask them

Small garden sprayer.

Remove the nozzel. Clamp the hose to the fuel line. Pour in a quart or two of gasoline. Pump the sprayer a few times. Bunge the sprayer to the footboard and go.

I don't have a picture of mine, but I use a small mower tank like the others.
I used pipe hanging strap like the picture to strap it up to the dash and run a rubber fuel line.
I clamp the hose over a short piece of brake line and screwed the other end into the carb.

I was thinking about the scrap yard I go to sometimes. Bought a decent vise for $5.00 one day. Just laying on the ground.

at the local dump people will drive up and push out a push mower and drive off.

it may have a busted block.. but if i see it i scavange the wheels and tank off of it. maybee the carb.. etc..
