When putting on new radiator hoses, should any type of sealant be used?

No. Just recheck the clamps after you warm it up good.

if it's on an old trsactor and the nozzles are badly pitted and eroded.. celan with wire wheel and sand paper.. and if it's bad enought hat it may leak.. smear a lil red or black rtv on there, and seat hte hose. let cure fully before filling and using.. down want any rtv getting into cooling passageways
