I just got home with my new to me DC-4, love it, my first one, did they make a 1954? seen some listed, tractor data just says 1953, just wanting to know the year of it, its serial # is DC80298--. Mike

i have a DC4 , serial no. DC8030007. it started out in 1953 as a D, never was shipped. than in 1954 they changed it to the DC4. has the original tag on it and you can see DC stamped over top of the D.

Thats very interesting story casenut1, did you or your family buy it new? so would you call it a 53 or 54? looks like our serial # is very close.

just recently acquired it.it would be a 54 because of the options on it.

What options is that? did they all have the foot throttle? mine does.

This is a close number DC 8027675 March 10 53 That is from build card

before that i don't think they had the foot throttle or the eagle hitch.

Regarding this thread on DC-4. I have a 51 DC (3) with a newer rear half. It has 3 point, live pto and a foot throttle. What year could it the rear be ? Thanks.

Look on the bottom of the transmission case where the drawbar attaches; there should be a date cast into the iron on one side.
