Looking for a new puller and differant from my G and A puller. Looking at building a D up but never owned one. I do know the rear tires are chain driven and it's heavy but looking for a new project. What can I get out this old girl for HP

Some Problems are small tires, limited gear selection, harder to balance due to short wheelbase, no place to put weights etc. The chains are NOT a limiting factor, you have lots of cubes, & they are awesome to watch pull. GO for it!

Be ready to spend some big bucks. I to started to build a D but it was more than I could afford at the time. Still looking for one to do though , I like to build the off the wall stuff. Build yours and I'll live thru you. There is one here in MI that runs really good,he built his own manifold and bored to God knows what.
Good luck Trucker

Just with a 7" bore, high compression, a cam port matching, port cleanup and an aftermarket dual exhaust. And the old D's will make a surprising amount of power.

I love my double D's--so much fun--better (more sensual) than B's. And they win here locally. I can get the '39 down to 4980 pounds. And weight it up to 6505 to pull percentage. It puts out 43 HP on my dyno. And we're at 5600 feet above sea level. I put the low sprockets in and keep the tires at 16.9 X 28. Hanging weights is a problem. I pull 600 pounds up below the rear end with a couple of comealongs.

Thanks for this photo. What a great tractor. Any videos of it pulling? Any specs on the motor?

Why not try to get a Class set up with a requirement that the Max engine RPM be UNDER 700..!!!
Now, that would be Fun to watch..!!!
You might find competition from some Oil-Pulls, tho..
Sounds like a Great idea to draw people to see it..!!
Ron..
