I think I have finally collected all the parts to completely overhaul it. The buda engine company (who'd of thought that still existed?) Has helped me out tremendously. If you need buda engine parts I highly recommend calling them, James to be specific.

BUDA was purchased by, and became a division of
...ALLIS-CHALMERS, in 1953 or 1954. If there is
still a BUDA Company, (in Buda illinois ?)it
must be an aftermarket company, like one selling
Hercules engine parts. Do you have any more information, or a web site?

The buda engine company, out of shreveport Louisiana. They have a website, www.budaengine.com, and their phone number is (318)222-3348. Ask for james. The parts for my diesel were not cheap, but I expected that.

They were made in Harvey, Ill. The place in LA I think just bought out a lot of warehouses.

Make sure when you get the head reworked that valve recession is set to the correct specs to improve starting. Also make sure the oil pump is good and bearing clearances is good.

Thanks, If my memory is correct: I heard that
BUDA was big in Marine engines, and Louisiana
makes sense in that respect.
