Does anyone know what front tire size should go with 28" rears on a VAC, mine are 500 - 15's but my book says they should be 600 - 16's. Also looked through my VAC literature, and it said that 600-16's go with the 28" rears.? Will it make a difference on the oil pump's operation.? Thanks, Mike |

Michael,
It depends on whether you have a VA or a VAC, as to std front tires. Even with 34" rears the VACs had 500s standard. As you can read in the price sheets dated March 15th 1956 the VA had std. 28s and 600s.
You will not hurt anything with the smaller fronts, as the tractors were ment to also go up and down hills, HeHe.

My VAC-13 had 600-16 w/28 rears. Was up in the front a bit. Doesn"t make any difference with the oil pump, it has a floating pick up strainer.

Thanks guys. Here in NW Ohio, the hills are pretty flat Loren, no chance of getting light headed going up and down the hills. Mike |

Michael,
Our daughter lives in Cuyahoga Falls. The thing that catches my attention out there is the upside down hills. Around here we have to go up and over them, and can't see past them. Out there you go down into them and then back up to level ground, that is visable on the other side. LOL
