While back I posted a photo of my 48 SC. looking through my computer files I found a photo of my 41.
I know it"s not original, but it"s pretty much the way it was when I bought it in 1988. It is on 12 volts with a delco distributor. The lights were already on it. it came with a JD #5 sickle mower. I sold the mower for $30. About ten years a go the mower turned up at an auction. it brought $60. Last summer I found the mower again at auction. it brought $75.
Two years a go at a farm auction just ten miles from me.. A center exhaust SC turned up. it was complete, but had a cracked block. it sold for $325.00. I knew the guy that bought it. He took the rear rims off and sold the rest for iron.

I kept pestering a older fella to sell me his 41 SC center exhaust sitting in a shed that fell down. No, it was his brothers and he was going to fix it. Some time later, getting steel at the local Iron and Metal, saw the SC smashed to bits in the scrap pile!! Smooth block too! Some people just don't care!! |
