Derby Line Vermont/Rock Island Quebec. The company was in a factory that straddled the border and originally used waterpower from a Canadian river that flowed under the building. Company was bought out by a French company, Tivoly and still makes machine tools on the American side. |

a little bit of history. "In 1880 our founding firm began by making buggy axle rethreaders." Unfortunately they don't give the founding firm's name. (Union? Butterfield?). "In 1905 we expanded in to twist drills and our line began to grow." While their headquarters is in Asheville North Carolina, they mention a production facility in Derby Line, Vermont. |
