I bought a 1B corn sheller today for my son to use to de-husk walnuts. I had been watching auctions all summer hoping one would pop up. Finally one came up today and only 20 miles away and figured for as long as I had been looking and so close I was going to own it. Well I"m sure I paid to much but it seems the only thing missing is the fan. It has a eletric motor set up to drive it, just needs a new cord,(I hope) and we will be ready to husk. It looks to be an unpainted original so I might turn it into our first Father Son project. I paid 300 would it be worth that if we restore it? Thanks for any comments. Nathan

I'm of the opinion that it is too good to restore. Good original paint with good original decals it hard to comeby. Get an old junky one to restore... |
