I have been testing my 3point hitch more. I noticed that if I raise the 3-point hitch all the way up and close the rate of drop screw with engine off the 3 point hitch stays up. I assume this means my rockshaft seals must be pretty good if it dont drop. Also I noticed If I continue with the 3point all the way up with engine off and rate of drop screw all the way closed if i lower the 3 point lever all the way I can hear the 3 point hitch start to creep down. Does this mean my pressure control valve below foot rest and screen filter is bad?? I read this on another site was the way to test. If this is the issue I plan on fixing and testing my stand by pressure when done. |

I don't have access to a JD utility service manual but IIRC the rate of drop screw is suppose to completely block off the orifice that the oil is suppose to escape when lowering 3pt. |
